The Fourth of July is this Friday and the holiday menu is not limited to hot dogs and hamburgers. Beat the heat with these specials and celebrations this week.

What: A July Fourth celebration will be held at Puma Yu’s, with weekend specials in addition to the regular menu. Weekend specials include the bao burger, steak, oysters, cocktails and wine by the bottle available on both Friday and Saturday. To reserve a table, patrons must rsvp through Resy.

When: Friday from 5-10 p.m.

What: Farm Burger added two seasonal salads and a new blackboard burger to their menu. The farm salad is now available, with lettuce, arugula, strawberries, shaved fennel, toasted pumpkin seeds, feta cheese and orange-sherry vinaigrette. The menu also includes the superfood salad with kale, rice, seasonal tomatoes, chickpeas, croutons, parmesan and garlic dressing.

The new blackboard burger #3 has pastured pork chorizo, grilled jalapeños and onions, pepper jack cheese, avocado crema sauce, cabbage and cilantro.

When: Until the end of Summer

What: The Hobohemians Slice of Americana Fourth of July folk show will celebrate the holiday. Rocket pop slushies and options from the Homy Made Taco Truck will fuel the event alongside cocktails.

When: Friday from 6-8:30 p.m.

What: New wagyu slow-cooked, dry rubbed and smoked brisket is available. The American beef has a blueberry glaze and is served with roasted corn, sweet potato purée, sweet potato skins, and charred red onion is also included in the dish.

When: Until mid-August

Summer has officially begun. Beat the heat with an ice cream treat or an iced coffee. AthFest may be over, but food trucks are not going anywhere. This week in Athens has much in store for those looking for something to do.
